Maybe it's not a death slot but a revival slot.. maybe Dollhouse will bring many viewers and return good shows to FOX! lol.

I personally loved Dollhouse. It was very good.. I wasn't confused or felt anything was off at all. I watched it with my friends too. Some of us have seen it more than 2 times already.

ok, I had no intent of d/l this show, cos I tend to save my d/l's for shows that aren't aired at all in Australia (OTH etc) and one of our networks has been advertising that they will be showing it sometime this yr (who knows when), but considering some people are saying they love, others going with its boring and Joss saying it doesn't pick up till ep4, I decided to d/l the pilot and see what I think. I never got to see Firefly in order (still need to buy the dvd's) and I didn't love the series (how people can say it is Joss best work ever is beyond me) but I thoroughly enjoyed Serenity. Not sure this series is up my ally and I am skeptical cos Joss always has amazing casting in all his work, but really the aussie actress is terrible in everything I have ever seen her in, she can not act!

I did not know about her before... and she has quite a small part in the pilot. So I hope you will enjoy it! wink.gif

Dichen Lachman. She got fired from both acting jobs she had in Australia cos she was so bad. She was on one of our popular soaps and there were soooo many complaints about her acting they fired her because people were threatening not to watch till she was gone and other people were taping the show so they could fastforward through her scenes.

"Dollhouse in the Doghouse"
Things aren't looking so hot for Joss Whedon's new series Dollhouse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, only 4.7 million viewers tuned into the US premiere of the highly anticipated drama on February 13, despite months of hype and fan speculation.

Dollhouse revolves around Echo (former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Eliza Dushku), an "active" employed by a shadowy corporation that "programs" her brain with skills to complete complex missions, then wipes her memory clean when she returns to headquarters.

Though Whedon is usually a critical darling, Dollhouse's first episode received mixed feedback from reviewers who voiced concern about the series' complicated premise and wondered whether Dushku has a wide enough acting range to play Echo.

But it's not all bad news for the fledgling series. For starters, it may be rescued by an online audience: the pilot episode, 'Ghost', is currently the number one TV show in the US iTunes store.

Secondly, Whedon himself has promised that the series will start paying off for fans in the second half of the first season, when the characters and the action start to develop.

I watched the first ep. Unlike Buffy and even Angel I wasn't hooked right from the start. I think it lacks Joss' snappy lingo that all his other series and films possess. It just doesn't feel like Joss. a) how thin is Eliza now! She has lost all her curves, does not look healthy and could her dress have been any shorter at the start! The first 20mins were boring, it got better towards the end, but unless the series picks up I doubt it will be a must see for me. Interesting the producers are the two women who got fired from Women's Murder Club- I like the direction they took that series.

for anyone who watched the recent episode, i don't get the whole thing that happened with mellie, the fbi agent's neighbor. is she a doll too, because the lady at the dollhouse said like this weird thing over the phone, and mellie just turned into like this super fighter chick lol...and then the woman said the weird sentence again, and she turned back to a normal person. i actually missed one of the earlier episodes so it could've been explained in that one, but right now i don't get it.

First T.D., that's a spoiler! Can you not hide it in a spoiler box please?

Then, there was no hint about what you are talking about in the previous episode... so I was as surprised as you were, even though I suspected it a bit! wink.gif

i don't understand, how is it a spoiler if the episode has already premiered? i was just asking about one little part that happened in the recent episode because i was confused over it.

Please, don't be defensive... just in some countries (like mine) it has no premiered yet... and even though some people may have not seen it yet!
So you are questioning about the identity of some character in it, and for me that is a spoiler (in a sense that if I hadn't seen the episode, I would have hated you for asking this question tongue.gif ).

She was terrible playing Katya in Neighbours, she only ever had 2 facial expressions; bored and "i'm stupid" She was hated in England too!

Anyway, back to the show, these last few episodes have been fantastic and the most recent one was all kinds of awesome. Eliza shouting "porn!" had me in stitches. laugh.gif

in that case, i apologize if it seemed like i was getting defensive, i was just confused as to why it would be a spoiler, especially to you because your last post before that, you said the episode was amazing. and also, it's hard to keep track of when new episodes premiere in other countries lol i just know when it has aired in the U.S. since i live here. i just figured i'd ask that one question because maybe it had been covered in an earlier episode which i'd missed, but i guess it wasn't.

I've been waiting for this one for a while now. Ever since Buffy and Tru Calling, I've wanted to see more of Eliza and Whedon never disappoints, so I am expecting lots and lots of goodness.

I'm going to wait for the season to come out on DVD, though. I want to do a marathon and not have to wait for the next week. smile.gif

Mmmmm Dollhouse....Eliza Dushku looks great too.

Sig by me..though not my idea. :)

The Armorer gave the boy a knife, and the boy looked at him and asked, "Is it magic?" The Armorer looked back at the boy and replied, "The worst kind; with one thrust, it can end hopes and shatter dreams." A line I read on "The Fantasy Forum". Its...so true. - Anna Svidersky 04/26/88 - 4/20/06...this affected me more than I ever expected. - She found out first-hand.
