I really hope that this works out! Buffy is my fave show ever and while the comics are pretty good, I miss not watching it.

But I love Buffy, and if they manage to solve their problems and really make a movie, count me in the very firsts to queue to see it when it's out!
And Buffy is not Buffy without Willow, that's for sure... but Alyson Hannigan has How I Met Your Mother...

They only film that for 3-5 months of the year. She app said she wants to spend her time away from the show with her husband, which doesn't make sense as she has done outside projects everysingle yr during the break from HIMYM, and her husband will be in the Buffy movie too, so technically if she wants to see him she is gonna be on set anyway! She also said she wants to leave Willow behind.

which is understandable, don't you think so?
I mean it began 11 years ago, the last episode aired 5 years ago... and if they really want to do a movie, it won't be out until 2010-11 maybe... now it really belongs to the past, and maybe some things should not be unburied!

I think it pisses me off cos in 2005/6 when Joss first started talking about a Buffy script, Sarah was the one to say no and Alyson had a public go at her, saying it should be about the fans, the fans want it, the script is good, everyone else has signed on, she was ecstatic to get another chance to bring Willow back to life (& even made some comment about how she was mostly considered a comedic actress (American Pie's & HIMYM) so was looking forward to darker role again "Showcase wide variety of acting") and Sarah was the sole reason the script didn't go any further. Now 2/3 yrs later she has completely changed her tune and is using every excuse she publically attacked Sarah for.

And she does not want of it anymore, that is all. She surely thinks that she would not feel good in the Willow character anymore, plus she does not want to stick to the Willow label since now she has the Lily one...
So these are just bad reasons that she gives, but she cannot say "no I don't want it anymore, it's not good enough for me now! that's it, full point!" because she would sound like a jerk since she owes her celebrity to Buffy...

To me that is what she is effectively saying. She owes her career to Joss, when she wanted to do American Pie 2, filming clashed with Buffy and he gave her less screen time so she could do both, she owes him big time. Back then she accused Sarah of not repaying Joss for his faith in her, and for turning her back on the show that made her a star (in fact I think she called her ungratful), its pot calling the kettle black. I think its dissapointing knowing she could be the one reason the movie doesn't end up being filmed and I think it is poor behaviour on her part when every single interview she did when the script was around last time was slamming Sarah. Can def see who the bigger person is since Sarah has not said one word about Alyson, aside from it would be "dissapointing not getting to work with Alyson again, and I don't feel Buffy is Buffy without Willow by her side. Honestly I don't know if I would commit, or if the script would work without Willow." Also no chance of Sarah doing it as the only castmember she really gets on with is Alyson.
Anyway, clearly you and I aren't gonna agree on this topic! I just was so excited when they announced a script and the fact Sarah had actually signed on! I didn't foresee another obstacle, esp not someone who was so excited a couple of yrs ago about working with Joss again.

Yeah, but we are not forced to agree to discuss, right?
I really get your point of view, but I haven't seen the script (what a surprise!) and my fear is to get disappointed by a movie that may be okay but below the show... I prefer it that way, for example I have never tried to read the 8th season, never watched Angel closely; and the only spin-off I accepted was the video game because I thought it was far enough so that it could not give me this feeling of disappointment towards the Buffy label...
Actually I have never seen a movie based on a show that is good I think, or at least I don't remember (which reminds me that I have to watch Serenity!)...
Not based on a video game either... like if I was at the head of the world... first poor world
And right now Alyson is doing well on How I Met Your Mother, which I love... So I have kind of partly forgotten her Willowness...

Haha right.
I haven't seen the script either but I trust Joss and he reckons the script will make every Buffy fan satisfied.

Oh yeah... I am pretty proud I did not spit on Alyson's face!

Oooooh that sucks.....ouch.

The Armorer gave the boy a knife, and the boy looked at him and asked, "Is it magic?" The Armorer looked back at the boy and replied, "The worst kind; with one thrust, it can end hopes and shatter dreams." A line I read on "The Fantasy Forum". Its...so true. - Anna Svidersky 04/26/88 - 4/20/06...this affected me more than I ever expected. - She found out first-hand.
