Season 4 of The Hills Airs TONIGHT August 18,2008 on MTV. Season 3 dvds should be in stores now.

I will never understand why people go in threads that are about something they don't like. If you don't like what the thread is about then why go in it and read it and post? why waste your time talking about something you don't even like. If you don't like it then don't read the threads or watch the show. It's like Anti websites? Why waste your time making a website for someone or something you don't like? I don't understand people.

Because everyone is entitled to an opinion. Just like proudwolf posted theirs and asked a question, you don't have to agree with them. I thought that was a whole point of a thread, to provoke discussion, all the discussion doesn't have to be positive.

I agree Proud, there is no way that is 'reality' without any scripting. I never got the obsession of the show until I stayed with my best friend in the states who loves the show. I found after a couple of eps I was waiting for the next one to see what happened! I started to view it as just another show, instead of rolling my eyes at the clearly scripted scenes. Having said that, I don't miss watching it and haven't bothered keeping up now I am home.

I absolutely agree that many of the scenes are staged and scripted. However, I find the show completely addictive. I don't feel like I'm watching reality (obviously). I don't really differentiate this show from other actual fictional shows. It's my guilty pleasure. I don't think it's anything close to good TV, but it's darn entertaining.

All staging aside, I think Lauren is a really sweet girl. Large parts of the show may be fabricated, but I don't think her character is. Like the way she refrains from saying nasty things about other people, knowing full well that it would probably fuel the drama and make her more money.
