Please no spoilers. and if you have to spoil something, mark them with a big warning space or use the
spoiler insert. some a****** spoiled the season 3 finale for me so the whole time i was watching it, i was like 'please dont let it be true' and it was true. it was still awesome, but damn it, i wish i had no idea.

yup. in the mean time, let's discuss the
webisodesedit: damnit, it's suppose to say 2008 not 2007.

Weren't the producers and writers of Lost killed by a string of rogue numbers back in Season 3?

Do you know if they've written all the episodes yet? Because if they haven't, you could be waiting for a while yet.
Gilbert

they've written 8 of the planned 16 episodes for season 4. So, hopefully, the strike is resolved soon and it won't have an unintended hiatus.

You'll never know what's going on. They'll keep expanding the plot until the viewership completely switches off and the show is cancelled.
It will end unsatisfyingly or be unfinished.

rent or buy or download the first 3 seasons. i don't care if you want to watch it the same time the world is watching it. it'll just make more sense and you'll appreciate it more if you watch it first. there's so many 'HOLY s***' moments that by reading them in a summary, it will kill the show for you.

yeah good points. i think ill rent. in the 2 random episodes i saw, even though i had no idea what was going on, i could recognize people and make connections and a few shocking things happened. lost seems like the kind of show where EVERY EPISODE IS A NEW TWIST. i have a really boring month ahead of me.. so catch up on lost it is!

SPOILERS....I THINK.
Personally, I think most of season 4's story will revolve around the islanders being split up into the "Locke" team and the "Jack" team, with the Lockies wanting to stay on the island (like Rose, for instance) and the Jackies wanting to escape. I know this whole Jack/Locke rivalry thing has been going on since day one, but I think it'll really start heating up in season 4.
Hopefully the writers have learnt from their past mistakes. The whole "hatch" story from season 2 dragged on for WAY too long...

The end of episode 8 is supposed to be a huge cliffhanger according to the producers. They claim it would frustrate the hell out of the fans to stall on such a note while the WGA strike is still ongoing. Could be true, could be hype. Whatever the case, I'm excited!

*WARNING*SPOILERS*
I think there's going to be a real blood fest in these coming 8 episodes. With all the minor character deaths last season and the none too surprising Locke fake-out, we've been lulled into an unsuspecting comfort zone. And then they'll hit us...WHAAAMO!!!!
Sawyer, "Hey what's up with the scythe boney shawl guy?"
*WHACK!*
Jack, "I'll need to use this experimental 10 blade razor if I'm going to get this mange off...urgh my throat!"
*GURGLE!PLOP!*
Kate, "Ooh I'm so constipated. Can't you tell I've had this look on my face since season 1..."
*KERBLOOEY!!!*
As far as I'm concerned they can go ahead and kill anyone except Locke and Juliette. Julliette...yummy...

I'm sure everyone has noticed by now most of the island inhabitants including an 'other' have father issues. More interesting for the fact all the 'others' believed Locke's dad had to kick the bucket before he could find his so to speak "place on the island." Did the others also venerate Ben when he offed his dad?
In the same vein, all mothers die on the island. Weird.
Biblical intimations? Adam and Eve were cast out of paradise for taking from the tree of knowledge. One metaphorical interpretation of the tree of knowledge is the taste of the apple has to do with carnal knowledge. The power to procreate which rivals god's creative power. Does the island also have to cast off these rivals?

Gahh. This show drives me crazy! I mean, well, I love it, but I can't believe they're dragging it out 'til 2010... they should've just done 2 seasons of 24 instead of 3 of 16. i hope they dont get pressured into making episodes.
the reason why i was happy with the 16 episode seasons was so they had time to develop the story, you know, pace it so nothing feels rush. if they can do it, cool. But i dont want s***ty episodes so ABC can have something for May Sweeps. Maybe they can have like a 2 week break after episode 8, so then the rest of the season can air without reruns. Call me a lost fanboy, but i have fate in the show and i trust them. i want the writers to feel proud of the show without regret.

So Ben somehow gets off the island. I guess that doesn't bode well for the new island visitors whom seem to want him six feet under. Am I alone in starting to want less story and more character development in flash fowards/backs than we've gotten so far this season?

at first, i though he went to visit Jack, but then i was like, "jack won't kill people," then the doctor talked and i knew he sounded like Ben, but Ben isnt a doctor...then bam. WHAT THE ****KKKK.
i dont know if it's Ben or Ben has clones (i hope its not clones cuz that would be lame.)
epsilonwolf
Feb 15 2008, 07:22 AM
Nah, that's not a clone...or it better not be because 'attack of the ben clones' is where I stop being a fan if you know what I mean.
I guess as bad as Ben is, the Dharma Initiative is the more pressing evil right now. I think they've got to be Dharma. When Locke blew up old Igor's media hutt, or whatever one-eye's name was...oh yeah Mikhail...Dharma must have been alerted the hostiles had taken over. So they somehow figured out Ben was central to the coup and are now hunting him.

My opinion on the "6" is that yes those six get off (can't wait to know who the final two are!)....but i bet more people get off the island, but weren't on the plane( AKA the original "others", like ben made it off, but wasn't on the flight).

I'm going to guess Claire is going to die somehow by Jack's actions. I'm saying this since her character's mostly useless now that Charlie kicked the bucket and Jack refuses to see the kid in the future.

I concur with your Jack-Clair-Aron scenario.
The flash-fowards are really working better and beyond all my expectations. They pack exponentially more surprise punches than did the flash-backs. Season 4 has not disapointed so far.
I suppose Locke going all 'Heart-of-Darkness' insane is consistant with the show's theme of turning all expectations on their head. If they succeed in transforming he who started off as the show's most poignantly sympathetic character into the evilest of all lunatics then hats off to them for the dramatic genius...but its still sad to see.

Feb 28 2008, 08:12 AM
Okay since Season 4 is the "Season of Flash-Fowards," I think it's interesting to ask when did we truelly get our first flash-foward?
Well you might say, 'Hehe that's easy epsilonwolf. We got it in the finale of season 3 when Jack and Kate did, among other things, a perfect reenactment of your ex repeatedly hanging up on you..."
Then, after shedding a quick tear, I'll say, "Perhaps..but it's not a slamdunk smart guy or gal!"
EXHIBIT A In final scene of Season 2 finale 'Live Together, Die Alone' two scientists working for Penny Widmore (Desmond's girlfriend) in an artic location detect a magnetic event leading them to believe they've found the location of the island. One of them, identified in casting credits as a character named 'Mathias' excitedly calls Penny to tell her the news with a rather suspect Portugese accent. He is pictured below :
Casting credits identify the actor playing Mathias as one Len Cordova. He is pictured below as our exhibit B :
EXHIBIT B
Some crazy obsessed Lostie fans dispute the crafty actor bait and switch however. They think Mathias is actually played by Matthew Fox...which means Mathias is actually Jack! (Exhibit C pictured below) Crazy as these Lostie fans are, they've compiled some impressive evidence to suit their case. Notice Mathias's chin width and nose shape seems to match M Fox's more than Cordova. Also Fox's individual facial hair pattern is almost identical with Mathias. Lost writers almost always hide meaning in character names so could further hints to Mathias's true nature lay there? According to Wikipedia;
Mathias' name in Portuguese is Matias.
The Gospel of Matthias is a lost text from the New Testament Apocrypha, ascribed to Matthias, the apostle chosen by lots to replace Judas Iscariot. Hmmm,
In Greek the word "apocryphal" (ἀπόκρυφος) was first applied, in a positive sense, to writings which were kept secret because they were the vehicles of esoteric knowledge considered too profound or too sacred to be disclosed to anyone other than the initiated.EXHIBIT C
So what do you think? Is it possible the first flash-foward occured at the end of season two where a future off-island Jack is helping Penny relocate the island in an attempt to, "Go Baaaack!!!"?
City
